Teachers at Beech Hall School will be responsible for delivering a bespoke approach to learning through a new lens, with emphasis placed on growing minds, hearts, eco responsibility, digital, innovation and being part of a global community.

The Beech Hall Tapestry frames our curriculum, our approach and our educational footprint. All educational staff will be supported to deliver relevant and contemporary education, with excellent resourcing and a team of collaborative and child-centred colleagues. ACCOUNTABILITY Line managed by the Deputy Head (Academic)  

Core Responsibilities:

Subject Knowledge 
  • Be a native or fluent Spanish teacher, who can develop knowledge and skills in their subject, whilst also promoting a love of Spanish culture;
  • Embrace an innovative approach to curriculum and pedagogy, and a willingness to research and apply updated, best practice in all areas of education;
  • Model a clear understanding of all subjects taught as part of the curriculum, with the ability to adapt and innovate, recognising that each child’s learning will be tailored to their needs, abilities and interests;
  • Model and take responsibility for promoting high standards of communication, collaboration, curiosity and creativity;
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of the development of reading, writing and maths, and how to enhance these throughout a thematic curriculum.

Curriculum Design and Adaptation

  • Plan, create and develop exciting and engaging learning opportunities that enhance knowledge, skills and learning habits in all areas of the curriculum;
  • Plan learning that takes into account the International Curriculum/American Curriculum and considers how to extend learning opportunities by implementing the six strands of the Beech Hall Tapestry;
  • Consider regulatory subjects in region and ensure that these are incorporated into the wider learning experience for students;
  • Clearly plan for students of all abilities, accounting for those who need support or challenge by making sure that lessons are tailored to the needs of all students;
  • Plan for effective use of digital technology;
  • Plan for effective use of learning resources which optimise learning;
  • Link planned outcomes and formative assessment opportunities to ensure that there is a deep understanding of next steps in learning;
  • Use internal tracking systems to monitor and report on progress;
  • Communicate clearly and regularly with parents with regards to learning, including; mindset, wellbeing and holistic progress.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • A relevant Bachelor’s Degree;
  • Postgraduate Certificate of Education or Teaching Qualification;
  • Excellent working knowledge of the American Curriculum/International Primary Curriculum/IB system;
  • A proven track record of effective teaching;
  • A strong academic background, stature and experience that will command the respect of pupils, parents, colleagues and the wider community
  • A commitment to academic progress and the welfare and safeguarding of students;
  • Knowledge and understanding of recent educational developments and best practice;

The Librarian plays a crucial role in developing a love of reading across our inclusive and innovative international school. The postholder will work with the English team, and home room teachers, to support the development of reading and ensuring the library is a central and critical resource in the school.

The ideal candidate will have a background in working in schools and supporting the library function. They will also have excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to promoting a culture of reading school-wide.

Accountability

Line managed by the Head of English.  

Key Responsibilities:

1. Management of reading resources · Ensure that there is the correct software to list and manage the books coming in and out of the library · Lead on keeping the library orderly and welcoming, as a safe haven for reading and quiet work · Ensure that all books and materials in the library are culturally sensitive and acceptable   2. Procurement: · Have a keen eye on new literature (fiction and non-fiction) coming out for children and young adults, and work within the given budget to keep the books in the library up to date and engaging · Work with the IT lead to consider digital resources as well as hard resources as part of this procurement process   3. Initiatives: · In liaison with the Head of English, develop and support initiatives to engage the community with reading tasks, to develop a love of reading across all age ranges · Ensure that the library is well used throughout the day to promote a love of reading  

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field · Previous experience working in a library would be advantageous · Fluency in English language. · Excellent organizational and time management skills. · Effective communication and interpersonal abilities. · Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. · Commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.   Beech Hall School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. The Lab Technician plays a crucial role in supporting the Science Department of the school by maintaining laboratory equipment, preparing materials for experiments, and ensuring a safe and efficient working environment for students and staff. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in laboratory procedures, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to promoting a culture of safety and academic excellence.

Accountability

Line managed by the Science Head of department/Academic Deputy Head

Key Responsibilities:

1. Equipment Maintenance: · Regularly inspect, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure functionality and safety standards are met. · Coordinate repairs and replacements as necessary to minimize downtime. 2. Material Preparation: · Prepare chemicals, solutions, specimens, and other materials required for science experiments according to curriculum guidelines and teacher instructions. · Ensure proper labeling and storage of all materials.   3. Lab Setup: · Set up laboratory stations and experiment apparatus before classes and dismantle them afterward. · Assist teachers and students in the proper use of equipment and materials during experiments. · Maintain the cleaniless and tidiness of the laboratory in conjunction with the teacher in charge of the room. · Clean goggles, safety screens, fume cupboards and other items. · Store materials tidily. · Keep equipment clean.  

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as chemistry, biology, or physics. · Previous experience working in a laboratory setting, preferably in an educational environment. · Fluency in English language. · Strong understanding of laboratory safety procedures and protocols. · Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and tools. · Solid foundation in science subjects such as biology, physics and chemistry. · Excellent organizational and time management skills. · Effective communication and interpersonal abilities. · Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. · Commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
